The Page Middle varsity baseball team is helping its community through a mutual love of baseball.

On April 13, the team volunteered with the Franklin Challengers, a special needs baseball team for individuals with physical and/or intellectual challenges, to help kids with disabilities experience the joy of America's favorite pastime.

"The Page Middle students were inspired by the determination and delight of the Franklin Challengers," said Page Middle School substitute nurse Emily Braden, who organized the event. "It was awesome to see how a love of baseball could connect the kids and the community. It will be something the boys keep with them for a long time."

During the game, each Page Middle player was paired with a Franklin Challenger player to provide support and encouragement. Although no score was kept, everyone emerged as a winner.
