Bus drivers play an important role in Williamson County Schools, and the district's Transportation Department wants to show its appreciation.

On Wednesday, October 18, the department hosted an appreciation lunch for bus drivers and attendants. As they were enjoying the food, drivers also had the opportunity to win prizes during a raffle.

"Our drivers, bus assistants, mechanics and Transportation staff all keep student safety at the very top of their list of responsibilities," said WCS Executive Director of Operations Gary Anderson. "I am proud that the Transportation Department team continues to work together to make sure our students get to and from school on well-maintained, safe buses along with our drivers utilizing safe driving techniques all with the goal of keeping the children safe. Our mini-lunch was just our way to let the team know that they are appreciated."
