Fairview High Structural Systems students are honing their construction skills by making homes for some cuddly canines.

This month, the students in Ron Rieger's class have been building doghouses. On Thursday, November 16, they were working on the roof or exterior elements of the structure.

"We started with building the floor of the dog houses and then added the walls and the roof," said FVHS student Kayden Curtis. "I knew how to build things before this class, but I never went through the whole process from start to finish. I learned a lot about the importance of measuring and got to use a lot of different tools to finish and perfect the doghouse."
