First graders at Fairview Elementary are bringing books to life by making green eggs and ham.

On Friday, September 29, students examined different types of eggs before cracking and whisking them in a bowl. Students also predicted whether they would like green eggs and ham.

"It's so interesting to see how close the predictions are to the final answers after they've taste-tested everything," said FES first-grade teacher Melissa Poloskey. "While we are reading, the students discover the message of being willing to try new things. Then they get to actually try Sam's delicious dish to put the message to the test."
