Centennial High Presents The Storyteller's Collective

The Centennial High theater department treated its audience to a special experience during its performance of The Storyteller's Collective October 4-6.

Each night, students performed three separate shows in three separate locations. From inside the auditorium to outside in the courtyard to back inside on the stage, all three shows took advantage of different lighting and set design opportunities. The shows also featured original music by CHS students Andrew Barre and Luke Cooper. Before the show, attendees were able to hear live music from the CHS orchestra and view work created by CHS art students.

"We had so much fun with these productions," said CHS theater director Megan Hardgrave. "I loved getting to bring meaningful stories together and collaborate with students to tell the stories in creative ways. It gave our audience a new way to engage with storytelling. The students loved getting to work together to experiment with new locations and lighting. They also loved getting to do something new and different. It was a risk and a lot of work, but it was fun."

Storyteller guides led the audiences through the three shows: Kaleidoscope by Ray Bradbury, The Lost Art of Finding by Alan Haehnel and Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl.
