Renaissance High students showcased their artistic talents and holiday spirit at their Coffeehouse concert Wednesday, December 6.

Students enjoyed seeing their peers perform individually or in a band, and visual art students were not left out as their work appeared on an art slideshow. The Spanish class, led by RNHS teacher Caroline Labbe, capped off the event by singing Feliz Navidad.

"This Coffeehouse is so special," said Labbe. "It's the last time everyone gets to be together for the semester. It's very festive with the music and everyone dressed up. I loved getting to sing and to get my Spanish classes involved and onstage. Our students are so talented, and this gives them an opportunity to shine and show off what they have been working on."

  • Students at Scales Elementary are enjoying their specials classes.

Whether it's in art, PE or music class, students are learning new things or improving their skills. In music, students are playing the recorder; in PE, they're playing ultimate kickball.

"In art, we're making nutcrackers," said SES student Avery Laviolette. "We're connecting the dots and coloring them in. We're also learning about symmetry, which means it's the same on both sides."
