The Brentwood High theater department told a tale as old as time February 29 through March 3.

Students performed Beauty and the Beast, a story that follows Belle as she escapes from her small-town life and finds her home with the Beast.

The show was directed by BHS teacher Lisa Moody, who is retiring at the end of the school year. Moody has worked at Brentwood High for more than 30 years.

"I love seeing the students succeed not only in making their characters come alive but also in becoming kind, caring individuals who find a safe place in which they can thrive and find out who they are, what gifts and abilities they have and how they can make the world a better place," Moody said. "Being a mentor is what has kept me going."
