Arrington Learning Commons
The Arrington Learning Commons is the heart of the school and an extension of the classroom. Students will have access to materials that support their curriculum, as well as books that encourage a life-long love of reading. Students will also get an introduction to exploratory STEM/Robotics, Makerspace, and other technology activities during their library specials rotation.
Mission & Strategies
The mission of the Arrington Learning Commons is to provide a fun, inviting, and collaborative atmosphere for all students. Our library is a true learning commons that blends literacy, technology, and STEM skills under one roof. Our belief is that literacy skills are crucial to building a solid foundation for student success in education and beyond. Our hope is to foster a love of reading that students will carry with them long after they leave Arrington Elementary School!

Book Fairs
We will have two book fairs each year: one in the fall and one in the spring. These events raise funds for library/learning commons materials, and garner excitement for reading within the school.

Damaged and Lost Books
We understand that accidents can and do happen! If a student has a lost/damaged library book, a fee will be charged in order to cover the cost of replacing or repairing the book. This fee is waived if a family replaces the book with a hardcover copy in good condition.
-
Library Hours
The Library is open from 8:30am - 3:45pm each day. Students come once a week on a regular Specials rotation. Each teacher has Library passes for students to come during the week outside of their designated Specials time. If a student has a Chromebook issue, we welcome that student to come to the Library with a pass from their teacher. We do not have extra Chromebooks or chargers to give out to students who forgot to charge theirs or didn't bring their Chromebook to school. We encourage students to come to school each day ready for class with a fully charged Chromebook.
