What is the Art Academy?

The Arts Academy strives to inspire an appreciation for individual creativity and a passion for the arts while preparing each student for college and career readiness. This hybrid program exposes students to many different forms of both traditional and digital art mediums. All art courses, regardless of media concentration, emphasize the importance of developing a strong understanding of the elements of art and principles of design. Each student learns about the vast art profession, its career options, industry trends, technology, production requirements, and self-promotion. Students learn to not only enjoy art through personal expression, but also to purposefully apply it. Each student will complete the program with a digital portfolio of their work in support of pursuing professional employment or the next stage in their arts education.
