Page and Mill Creek middle theater students put their skills on display at the annual Junior Theater Festival.

Both theater departments traveled to Atlanta to participate in the event January 12-14. Mill Creek Middle earned the Excellence in Acting - All Festival Award, and MCMS student Sarah Sentell was recognized with the Outstanding Performance of an Individual award. Sarah and her castmate Maddie Uhde were both named to the All-Star Cast.

"We won some amazing awards on our trip," said MCMS theater director Aly Isom. "We had representatives who watched our performance tell us we were some of the most innovative and talented performers."

Page Middle's theater department earned the Excellence in Music Award.

"We attended the festival for the first time this year," said PMS theater director Donovan Hughes. "The feedback we received was that we were a solid triple threat in singing, dancing and acting."

JTF brings together student musical theater troupes from all over the world for a weekend of workshops, performances and more. At the festival, groups performed a short selection from a junior Broadway musical for adjudication by a panel of musical theater experts.
