Hello Mustang Families! 💜

Thank you to all who have made a donation to our PTO Mustang Mania fundraising campaign. In the first two weeks, our school community has raised $7,127.00!

We have 1 more week left in the campaign, and I KNOW that our community can meet this goal!

If each student raises $30, we will hit our school-wide goal of $25,000! We encourage students to reach out to family members and friends to help us achieve this goal!!

The first purchase we plan to make with these funds is a projector and screen for our gym! SSMS is one of the few middle schools in WCS without this technology, and we want our students and families to have the same awesome opportunities as the other schools for:

PE class presentations
Athletic Event Presentations
Fine Arts Presentations
8th grade Promotion
Back to School Family Presentations
Pep Rallies and School Events
Many more large group activities

Below are the results for the second week of the campaign:

Grade Level Results:

1st place = 6th grade with $3,278 raised.
2nd place = 7th grade with $2,445 raised.
3rd place = 8th grade with $809 raised.
 

Homeroom Leaderboard Results:

6th grade-1st place = Mr. Buck with $640 raised.
7th grade - 1st place = Mrs. Lane with $545 raised.
8th grade-1st place = Mrs. Southworth with $340 raised.
 

Thank you for your continued support from home! Our students are very excited about the incentive prizes and the opportunity to have their grade level administrator take some "pies to the face" at the PBIS Celebration on March 8!! 🤣😝🤑

Spring Station Middle School, Principal

Thursdays from 2:45-3:45 PM

• The closure of Twin Lakes Drive and Spring Station Drive for the installation of a water line was scheduled to occur over Christmas break. This has been pushed back to the Spring, due to a delay in acquiring needed materials.
  • Once they prepare to do the closures of Twin Lakes and Spring Station Drive, it will not be at the same time, and they will give WCS a heads-up to communicate with our families.
  • Citizens in the Spring Hill area will be given a 2-week notice prior to this closure.
  • This work will not affect water supply for SSMS.
• The contractors start work each day at 7 AM and are not allowed to pull into traffic in the mornings.
• The turn lanes on to Twin Lakes and Spring Station Dr. from Buckner, if you're heading north, are closed and will be closed until completion.
• Cherry Grove Families: Students should not bike or walk across the street onto Spring Station Drive due to heavy, congested traffic. This area is currently very dangerous with no sidewalks or crosswalks available.
• This is a 21-month project which will continue up to Duplex, so it will affect everyone coming from that direction.
• Parents seeking alternative routes through the Wades Grove Neighborhood:
  • PLEASE watch your speed and be courteous to other drivers. We have so many students that walk to and from SSMS through this neighborhood.
• Any complaints and/or concerns should be communicated to Spring Hill City Hall since this is a city project.

We have an incredible opportunity to help you generate and educate your future employees and/or help inspire our young people to discover their future career pathway. Please consider volunteering for Spring Station Middle School’s Career Fair.

The career fair will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 8:45 AM to 12:00 PM at Spring Station Middle School. We would like to increase students’ career awareness by having them talk with people like you, representing skilled workers and professionals serving in a variety of job roles and across a variety of industries. We are excited about the opportunity for our school and community to work together in supporting our students' career development.

This opportunity will be available to all SSMS students in grades 6-8. Presenters will arrive at around 7:50 to allow time to enter the building and set up in the gym. Tables will be provided in the gym and emergency vehicles, trucks, or large equipment will park in the parking lot just outside the gym. Tables will be grouped by career clusters.

If you are interested in participating, please provide handouts (business cards, flyers, or brochures), general information, and you may provide a visual display or tools of the trade to display. Feel free to call or email if you have questions about items to display. While we want to capture students' interests, we must also consider all safety protocols for a school setting.

Our School is using PBIS Rewards to help us with our PBIS program. PBIS Rewards is a technology-based PBIS Management System that helps us with our behavior incentive program. You can learn about PBIS Rewards on their website. Parents may gain access to their child’s school account by downloading the PBIS Rewards FAMILY app and using a QR code specific to each of their students to link their accounts. Letters containing the individual QR code given to students earlier this week to take home. Parents were also sent individual emails on Friday afternoon with identical versions of these QR codes.
