E-SPORTS is a competitive, team-based activity where students will practice together to compete with other school teams in the district. Students will have opportunities to compete at matches based on their individual win/lose stats as well as small group win/lose stats. Games students will be competing in include League of Legends (PC), Rocket League (PC), Multiverses (PC), and Super Smash Bros Ultimate (Nintendo Switch). Students will be required to register in Final Forms to be eligible to attend practice and compete. E-Sports not only gives students a chance to play competitive video games, but also opens the door into many different careers in technology. There are also great scholarship opportunities for students who may be interested in playing at the collegiate level.

The Forensics Team is open to any Ravenwood student for tryouts. Our Forensics Team is a competitive speech, drama & debate team, and is affiliated with the National Forensics League and the Tennessee High School Speech and Drama League. Forensics is also a nationally recognized honor society. Time commitments are weekly practices depending on the category you compete in. Because of size limits of the team, students must sign up and become an active team member before the end of the first nine weeks of school. Also, adherence to GPA requirements and by‐laws must be kept.

The FRESHMAN MENTORING PROGRAM was designed to provide a comprehensive transition program for all freshmen coming to the Ravenwood community. Freshman Mentors (rising juniors and seniors) are selected during 2nd semester of each year following an application process. The mentors (or FMPs) plan and carry out Freshman Orientation over the summer and continue mentoring throughout the school year by presenting Ravenwood‐relevant lessons once weekly in freshman homeroom classes. In addition, mentors make themselves available to freshmen seeking "upper‐classman guidance." It is quite an honor at Ravenwood to be selected to serve as an FMP. Rising juniors and seniors go through an application process that includes obtaining letters of recommendation, maintaining good grades and good attendance, and exhibiting a positive attitude. FMPs are considered the "cream of the crop" at Ravenwood ~~ We love our FMPs!

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that helps those in need to rise out of poverty. Habitat helps families to attain homeownership by building houses at the lowest possible cost through volunteer labor and donated materials. They sell the houses at no profit and no interest to a low-income family. Ravenwood students assist five other Williamson County high schools with the build in February and March as a part of “Habitat High.”

The Interact Club is Rotary International's service club for Young people ages 14‐18. The Ravenwood Interact Club is sponsored by the Brentwood Morning Rotary club, which provides support and guidance, but is self‐governed and self-supported. Each year, Interact completes one service project per month, one of which furthers international understanding and goodwill. Through these efforts, Interactors develop a network of friendships with local and overseas clubs and learn the importance of: developing leadership skills and personal integrity, demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others, understanding the value of individual responsibility and hard work, and advancing international understanding and goodwill.

The Ravenwood High School Mock Trial Team provides students an opportunity to learn about the law, court procedures, and legal system. This is done through hands-on and in-court experience with a complete mock trial that is provided by the state of TN and the TN bar association.

MODEL UNITED NATIONS students serve as delegates to a “mock” United Nations meeting and serve as a representative of a country. They research that country and the problems facing it. They also prepare speeches to present at the conference and prepare resolutions that they petition the mock United Nations to adopt. In this process, students learn research skills, information about other countries, and how to speak in front of groups. Their work culminates in an annual conference in November where 800 delegates gather to argue on behalf of their resolutions. (Only cost incurred will be related to the conference.)

The Ravenwood Review is a school sponsored club that publishes a literary magazine containing student writing. The faculty sponsors are Mai Shaffner and Rachel Noli. The club has a student editor in chief and two assistant officers. We publish creative short fiction, poetry, academic essays, and movie and book reviews. The publication is available through The Ravenwood Review’s website (connected to school myplace accounts) and as a PDF newsletter available to parents.

Every November at RHS we perform a full-length play. Auditions for the play are held in August and are open to any student regardless of involvement in theatre class or the Thespian Society. Students are given to opportunity to audition to act a role in the show or interview for a technical position. Technical positions include but are not limited to build crew, lights, sound, costumes, props, hair, makeup, and front of house.

Every April at RHS we perform a full-length musical theatre production. • Invitation to membership is restricted to students actively engaged in the study of French in Ravenwood. Students must be enrolled in or have completed French 2.
• Transfer students must have spent at least one full semester in Ravenwood high school before becoming eligible for invitation to membership.
• Candidates must have maintained an A- (A minus) average or higher in French throughout their secondary school study of French, including the semester of selection and all previous work awarded secondary school credit.
• Candidates must have maintained a B- (B minus) average or higher in all other secondary school subjects prior to the semester of selection. French may not be used to calculate this average.

The Latin Honor society is a special designation given to students that have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and citizenship in the Latin classroom.

Participation in the Ravenwood Chapter of MU ALPHA THETA (a math honor society) is by invitation only, after completing Algebra 2 Honors. If student is new to the district after this course, they will need to be in the honors of Advance Placement level course. MU ALPHA THETA is the National High School and Two‐Year College Mathematics Honor Society with over 75,000 student members in more than 1,500 schools. We are dedicated to inspiring keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school and two‐year college students. Part of the requirements of membership is to tutor other Math students, either during select study halls or after school.

The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is designed to inspire and recognize students in visual art. The NAHS strives to aid members in attaining the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.

The SCIENCE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY encourages and recognizes scientific and intellectual thought, advances the student’s knowledge of classical and modern science, communicates with the scientific community, aids the civic community with its comprehension of science, and encourages students to participate in community service and in turn, encourages a dedication to the pursuit of scientific knowledge.

The purpose of our SPANISH NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY is to broaden the perspective of non‐native and native Spanish speaking students. Their activities are centered on service to our Hispanic community in Williamson County and Nashville. This club strives to build communication skills through their participation in school and service activities. They do not travel for trips, yet!

The TRI‐M MUSIC HONOR SOCIETY is the only international music honor society for high school students. It is designed to recognize students for their academic and musical achievements, reward them for their accomplishments and service activities, and to inspire other students to excel at music and leadership. Tri‐M inductees will have the opportunity to participate in many music activities throughout the year including service projects, performance of a solo or small ensemble piece at a Tri-M recital, and other activities to boost awareness of music in the community.

1. Student must be currently enrolled in a music ensemble at Ravenwood High School.

We want to learn acapella songs and perform at places like nursing homes and homeless shelters. We also want to perform for school events.

Our club is dedicated to advancing the frontiers of neuroscience research through passionate fundraising efforts by uniting individuals who share a profound interest in the brain. We aim to support groundbreaking studies in neuroscience.

To celebrate African and all African diaspora’s cultures and educate on the diaspora’s foods, games, history, etc.

To set aside time after school for people to come and relax and work on art. We want to foster a relaxing and judgement-free environment where people can have fun and express themselves.

To provide a haven of cultural diversity where students (regardless of race) can celebrate and learn the unique aspects of various cultures such as Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Indian, and more. Through cooking a large selection of Asian dishes, karaoke, visiting local Asian establishments, we will teach Ravenwood students to embrace Asian culture and festivities.

To represent Asian culture. Also, will showcase Bollywood dance and spread the love of dance.

The BARR program (Becoming A Ravenwood Raptor) was designed to provide a comprehensive transition program for all new students coming to RHS and the Brentwood community. The BARR program is made up of roughly 30 mentors that are selected during 2nd semester of each year following an application/interview process. The mentors conduct building tours and carry out both new student and parent orientation events throughout the year. BARR mentors and new students are placed in a study hall where they can foster relationships, receive academic help, and have a BARR teacher to help bridge the gap between school and home. BARR mentors are counted as our most trusted, selfless, and emotionally intelligent students at RHS. They have a servant’s heart for helping new families become a valued part of the Raptor family. We love our BARR mentors!

Through inter disciplinary engagement, members will cultivate skills spanning biology, computer science, and data analysis. Members will be able to equip themselves with versatile experience that holds relevance across all STEM fields. Will use tools applicable to genetics, drug discovery, personalized medicine and more.

Students attend meetings to showcase presentations and research on medical, scientific, and other “sociological” topics. Topics are introduced at the beginning of the month and students research and present projects at the end of the month.

The purpose of Black Alliance is to provide a community for all students, especially those of African American, African, or Carribbean descent. We work to advocate for students as well as planning activities and fundraisers to benefit the community.

Providing students with an opportunity to compete in an international competition in which students create and present a unique idea and construct a pitch for their product.

The purpose of the club is to read and discuss one book per month.

To provide children in Nashville with the ability to read more. We want to hold book drives throughout the year, which wil then be donated to the Nashville public libraries children's section.
