Informational meetings about Franklin High’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme have started, but those interested should know what the program is before making the decision to attend.
The IB Diploma Programme is an instructional program that gives students an opportunity to earn college credit and scholarships. According to the program’s mission statement, the aim is to provide an education that equips students with the skills necessary for taking responsible action in the future.
WCS students who have completed the program say it gave them a solid foundation as they went on to college.
“I can clearly see how the IB Programme not only prepared me for college, but for life beyond,” said FHS Class of 2018 graduate Ashlyn Anderson. “My high school experience was about more than just success academically, but rather success in my personal development and growth as a learner.”
The informational meetings are designed for WCS eighth grade students and their parents, but anyone is invited to attend. The meeting dates and times can be found in a previous InFocus article.
More information about the program is available on the IB Programme’s parent information page.
